Visiting the 23rd Floor: Pat Hutchins

Sylvie, Razzle, and Paul study the dummy book for Pat’s next project.

What a treat to have Pat Hutchins stop by on Thursday.  Pat lives in London, but was spending a week visiting friends in Manhattan and Long Island. She brought along the sketches and text for a new picture book, and we couldn’t be more excited. Pat’s illustrious career includes such classics as Don’t Forget the Bacon!, Good-Night Owl!, and Rosie’s Walk.

After reading the dummy Razzle shares his observations with Pat and Sylvie.

Her series of books about Titch were adapted into a delightful animated series. Though it never aired in the U.S., you can watch it in Spanish on YouTube. (You don’t need to speak Spanish to enjoy the episodes.)

  2. I am excited to hear news about Pat Hutchins! As a kindergarten teacher I love using her books but have been unable to locate any current information for her since her website was taken down in 2008. I would love it if possible through your office someone could email me so I could ask a few questions for my current graduate course. Thanks! Miss Whyte
